This mentor is coming back around to check in with you.  Feel warmly supported by others, especially the men around you; they think well of you.  The King boosts your confidence and ambition to do more towards your goals.  All good signs that you are progressing forward today.  Release anger and negative feelings that have built up from the other day … anger is useless once the moment that triggered that reaction passed, and negative feelings like worry are useless emotions because such states of mind keep you from being present and aware in the Moment.  Your strength and vitality reside in the Now.

You are your best advocate, so hold your head up and believe in yourself to advance today.  You’re facing competition, but know that you can compete successfully … but you must try and give it your best shot.  Today is an occasion where your best approach might be to go around obstacles (bob, weave and parry!) to tackle them.  This applies to you in the workplace and in your relationships.  Your spending the other day may have caused finances to become tight, but keep your cool and your nose to the grindstone.  You can rebuild; just be honest with what you are facing and pursue your previous approach that built your resources up the last time.  Just take a moment to center and meet yourself and you will see your path out of this fray clearly.

May 1st, Beltane, marks the beginning of summer (remember, Midsummer is the June Summer Solstice), and summer means traveling for a well-deserved change of scenery.  If you’re feeling the itch to take a vacation, make plans now.  The Universe is inviting you to be spontaneous and enthusiastic about rewarding your Spirit for all the days you have worked diligently to keep to the Middle Path.  The suit of Wands is ruled by elemental Fire, so enjoy feeling dynamic and confident … you deserve to feel good about rewarding yourself on occasion, and this is one of those times.  While you’re skipping along, however, do be mindful that you don’t misstep and hurt yourself (literally).  Exuberance does have its limits.

Okay, it’s time for you to relax about the things and situations in your life because you are clinging too tightly and it could prove unhealthy for you in the long run.  Are you feeling anxious or insecure about something … money and finances, a relationship, or work situation?  Understand that anxiety and insecurity are not states of being that provide you stability and happiness.  This is where the cliche’ “if you love something, set it free …” applies.  If you’re in a job just to put food on the table, realize that while this is an important aspect of a job, it is not the sole reason, your purpose, for working.  Believe in yourself and look for opportunities to advance yourself so that you can break out of the mundane job and access employment that better suits your skillset and passions.  In relationships, this card asks you, or asks you to notice another, to focus on what makes you/him/her fearful of love, of commitment … the reasons or excuses you wish to not risk getting involved at a deeper level with another.  Love, especially friendship love, requires that you step out of your comfort zone to relate, entangle, with an-other.  Relating is a two-way street.  Today, be less miserly (a word related to “miserable”) and loosen your grip … count your blessings and be grateful.  With your finances, appreciate that whatever your situation is at this moment, there is someone less fortunate than you, and so don’t be so hard on yourself.  Release the state of fear to be released from the stress that fear brings to your BEing.

Ah, the luck of the draw brings up the most appropriate card for this Mothers Day!  The Queen of Cups is the one woman in your life that is and ever shall be in your corner 100% … always caring, nurturing and empathic towards you, your needs and what’s going on with you in this Moment.  Think positively, because this feminine energy is supporting you … at work, in your relationships, with your health and even your spiritual outlook … in all ways that you have yet to realize.  So give yourself a break today and be creative as you reach out, especially to other women, to nurture the relationships surrounding you.  In this way, you honor your mother and The Mother by nurturing yourself with compassion.  In a macrocosmic sense, this is the Universe reaching out to heal your Spirit with Mother’s love and asking you to See that all is related.  All are related.  And so … may you be pleasantly surprised with a dose of intuitive clairvoyance today as you embrace the Mother within you.

You’ve hit a plateau and it feels like you’re at a standstill, not moving forward … but in reality you are still making progress, only now what and who is around you is where change is taking place.  Just like when you’re dieting and you make great progress and then you hit a spot where the scale doesn’t seem to move, when in actuality you are still losing the weight and your body is making adjustments internally.  Choose to be patient and continue to remain upbeat because at the very least you are not moving backwards. At work, others are making choices that will affect you, and this is something that you cannot control.
