The Number 777 and the Path of the Flaming Sword

In this essay, I will discuss the qabalah of the number 777 from two different approaches. The classical derivation of 777 is to sum the paths that the Lightning Flash of Creation travels along or, in the case of Gimel, crosses on its journey from Kether to Malkuth on the Tree of Life. Another way to derive 777 is to add 359 to 418, as suggested by Aleister Crowley’s comment on chapter 3, verse 74, of the Book of the Law. Both approaches discover an archetype of spirit incarnated in human form. […]

The Secret Doctrine of the Rosicrucians, by Magus Incognito [1918]

This is one of the numerous Yogi Publication Society (YPS) books which have been attributed to William Walker Atkinson under pseudonym. It bears strong similarities to The Kybalion, which is also known to have been authored by Atkinson. The material was later re-worked as one of the volumes in his series The Arcane Teachings.
This etext was scanned from an original 1918 printing of this work. The pagination and emphasis differ slightly from modern YPS printings of this book. […]

Why is Yesod in Air and Hod in Water?
A common query among those working the Golden Dawn system is why the Sephirah Yesod (and Theoricus) is attributed to Air instead of Water (after all, it is linked with the Moon, which affects the tides), and why the Sephirah Hod (and Practicus) is attributed to Water (when it is also assigned to the more intellectual, or airy, planet of Mercury). It almost seems like it’s reversed, an apparent elemental inconsistency. […]

Being Rosicrucian

“We, as humans, have two duties with regard to Universal Love. The first is to love ourselves so that we can love others. The other is to cultivate tolerance, for although it may not be possible to love everyone; it is imperative to hate no one.” — Christian Bernard

The System of W. B. Yeats’s A Vision
This web site is dedicated to the work of the Irish poet W. B. It is intended primarily for students of this work, and also for those who are interested in the intellectual and symbolic background to his later poetry and prose. For those who are unfamiliar with Yeats or with A Vision, the Overview offers a brief introductory survey. […]

“When the human race learns to read the language of symbolism, a great veil will fall from the eyes of men. They shall then know truth and, more than that, they shall realize that from the beginning truth has been in the world unrecognized, save by a small but gradually increasing number appointed by the Lords of the Dawn as ministers to the needs of human creatures struggling co regain their consciousness of divinity.”
~ Manly P. Hall
